Neighbors helping neighbors, like the barn-raising of old, is the American spirit in action. Rebuilding Together was born of that spirit as people came together to help their low-income neighbors fix their houses - first in Texas, then in Washington, D.C., and then California and beyond.
Rebuilding Together is the nation's leading organization bringing volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners by providing free repair services for those with the greatest need. Nationally through 2006, we rehabilitated 105,020 houses and non-profit facilities, bringing 2.7 million volunteers together, committing to 27 million hours of volunteer time and delivered $1 billion in market value.
Rebuilding Together Albany-Berkeley-Emeryville is an independent nonprofit 501c3 organization that is part of a network of approximately 250 Rebuilding Together affiliates across the country. Since our founding in 1991, Rebuilding Together Albany-Berkeley-Emeryville has rehabilitated more than 700 homes and facilities with more than 20,000 volunteers, delivering more than $10 million in market value.
